Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: There are not many locations in this area of Iceland since it's in the highlands, but this filled our needs perfectly and exceeded those expectations. Going in, I was expecting this to be more barebones, but the facilities were well above anything you could achieve with camping and was well worth it for our journeys. We got lucky that the place wasn't full, so we got to have a room for just the 2 of us when normally it would be max 4 people. The common areas are big and comfortable since the place holds a lot of people at max capacity. It was cool to learn that the place only hosts guests for ~2 months and then is used as a lodge for the local sheep herders to gather their livestock up for the winter.

Negative: Didn't realize the bedding cost extra to rent for the night, since the beds are designed for you to be using a sleeping bag. Not a huge deal, got 2 sets and they were plenty comfortable.

Summary: Good resting spot for a weary traveler in the highlands
