The Pond House is a late 19th century farmhouse, completely restored in 2010. Set amidst a 460 acre working farm on a quiet dirt road. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, living/dining room, kitchen, den, laundry, deck and Wi-Fi.
Visitors on our farm are welcome to collect fresh eggs in the morning for breakfast. In the spring, summer, and fall watch the Black Angus graze on the pastures while drinking coffee, walk the trails through the woods, enjoy a picnic in one of the high pastures overlooking the Catskills, cool off with a jump off the dock into the pond, cook dinner in the fully stocked kitchen, or read a book on the deck overlooking the pond. In the winter the pastures and barns are quiet as most of the animals have gone to market. Sledding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, skating on the pond, and winter walks make up the days, weather permitting of course.
Chatham is a charming small town with an independent movie theatre, a bakery, coffee shop, cheese shop, local brewery, local food co-op, several restaurants, an independent bookstore, and a farmer’s market in season. Chatham and the surrounding towns have farms producing grass fed beef, prize winning cheeses, wineries, organic vegetables and fruits, locally made jams, chutneys, pastries and breads, beer and spirits.
