Kick back on the deck for morning coffee as you watch the birds, with the Catskill mountains off in the distance. Later, take a walk or a bike ride on the rail trail, and across the iconic trestle bridge over the Rondout Creek. Explore the charming, funky town of Rosendale-- the bakery, restaurants, library, vintage boutique, and bookstore. (If you want more antiquing and dining options, quaint High Falls and Stone Ridge are just minutes away, and Kingston and New Paltz are each a 15 minute drive.)
Feeling athletic? Try rock climbing at the famous Shawangunk Mountains. Take a walk around Lake Minnewaska then head in for a swim. Play tennis in town. In the winter months, head to the Catskills for a day of downhill skiing, or go cross-country or snow-shoeing at one of the many nearby trails, or just curl up with a good book in front of the wood-burning stove.
