Spacious and gorgeous! Private, newly built, log-sided home on 5 acres for your best-ever getaway. Main floor features cozy fireplace living area with leather sofas and chairs, massive reclaimed lumber dining table for 14 and well-equipped cook's kitchen. Living area opens to a huge deck featuring expansive mountain views, and a hot tub for six. The game room features a living area, kitchenette, pool table, air hockey and ski-themed pinball machine. The Cabin is very private and off a quiet dead-end road, but within minutes of plenty to do and see. With 3800 sf of living space over 3 floors there is plenty of room for everyone. Our living and dining areas are large enough for everyone to sit together in front of the fire or at the dinner table. The hot tub is maintained all year, and is an absolutely wonderful way to warm up after a day on the slopes. There is a full house standby generator so no worries about power outages during your stay. The house also has on-demand hot water heaters -- never a cold shower. Guests have access to the entire home and property, excluding out buildings and owners closets. Like many homes in the area, our driveway is steep. During the winter months the driveway is plowed, but we recommend you have at least front wheel drive on your vehicle. Parking is available at the street level if necessary, but there is a 500 ft walk to the house. I will be by after check in to review hot tub operation and care, use of the fireplace and the other equipment and accessories in the house. We are local and are available through out your stay if you have any issues. While our address is stated as Hunter, the house is actually located in neighboring Jewett. The difference between the towns is quite striking as you leave Hunter and enter Jewett. The area is much more rural, homes are much father apart and there are picture perfect views (especially in fall) of the Schoharie creek as you wind down 23a. The chaos of hikers, bathers, trucks and cars around Katerskill falls is replaced by quiet country roads with many unused public access areas to the Schoharie creek. We are 5 minutes to Hunter North, 15 to Windham and 30 to Bellayre Ski areas. Minutes from the villages of Hunter, Tannersville and Windham with plenty of outdoor activities, dining, festival and shopping options. Our guest guide lists it all so you'll never be at a loss as to where to find anything. Your own car is your best bet for getting here and getting around. Uber and taxi services are available round town and from the Amtrak station in Hudson if necessary. Be sure to obey all speed limits! Please note that we do not accept bookings that do not include whole weekends. ie If you book a Saturday you must also book the friday before it.
