3 Bedroom House in Cunningham, Kevil

Built originally in the 40s by my father-in-law for his new bride, this home raised my husband and his four siblings. The property has been owned by this family since the 1880s. It was a general farm, then a dedicated dairy farm until the early 1990s. When the dairy operation sold out, we bought the home place and some surrounding acreage. My daughter and her husband now live down near the barns and manage it as an equine facility. We live a few miles away. The Redhouse is between Highways 60 and 286, easily gotten to from highway 2532(County Line Rd), which connects the two state highways. The house has a Ring camera at the front door now. No cameras inside.

Summary: We found this home on Vrbo while our bathroom was being remodeled, and to our surprise, it turned out to be absolutely perfect for us. Tucked away in the peaceful countryside, it was an ideal spot—especially with our small dog in tow. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and very accommodating.The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the entire home was spotless, and we loved the welcoming touches—snacks on arrival and a dozen fresh farm eggs waiting in the fridge were such a treat. Communication with the owner was excellent from start to finish. When our contractor needed a few extra days to finish the project, they were incredibly flexible and kind in extending our stay.We couldn’t have asked for a better place or a more gracious host. Highly recommended!
