This spacious 1-bedroom English Basement is the lower level of a newly renovated 100 year-old town house in a DC neighborhood smack dab in the center of the nation's Capitol. It's just blocks from Trinity University, Howard University, and Catholic University and the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
The apartment is bright, clean and new. It has separate entrances in both the front and back and a private outdoor dining space for you. It has a modern bathroom, a comfortable bedroom, and an open concept full kitchen and living-dining space. The apartment has good lighting with brand new bedroom furniture, mattress, and linens. There is plenty of closet space throughout along with dressers for storage. Free high-speed wifi is available to guests, as are Pandora, Netflix, and Amazon Prime on a large wall-mounted flatscreen TV and sound system with DVD player. A new washer and dryer was installed in May 2017.
Please note that you may hear footsteps and other sound from me upstairs, and I will be careful to keep that to a minimum. We also may hear sound now and again from our neighbors in adjacent row houses.
A free parking permit is available for guests upon request, which will enable you to park for free on the street without time limit. This requires a fully refundable $300 deposit via PayPal or cash. Note that even with the permit you will be subject to general parking restrictions (like fire hydrants) and other limits that may apply from time to time (like for street cleaning), so be sure to check street signs when parking.
North Capitol and other bus line stops (80, D8, H1, H2, H3, and H4) are one block away, and there are two Redline Metro stations within a mile. Union Station is a short ride away. It's a 10-15 minute walk to restaurants, coffee houses, shops, and bars in trendy Bloomingdale and Brookland neighborhoods. And a Short 5-10 minute Uber or Lyft ride to U Street, 14th Street, Logan Circle, Dupont Circle, Columbia Heights, Downtown, and Union Market.
