Summary: It's got a lot of miles on the odometer. Nothing horrible but worn and slightly stained here and there. It's clean and the front desk was pleasant. But the infrastructure is tired. It would have been just fine if they didn't obscure the HVAC being offline. We got to our room and the A/C wouldn't work (32c outside). I talked to front desk, maintenance came, first thing he asked was "everything is ok with the room right?". That is an odd question. The issue was known, you are there to fix the A/C. I said no, the A/C is out and the room is 28c. He looked at the Thermostat for a few minutes and said he couldn't get it to work. I said, I know the error code shown there shows that the main A/C compressor is offline. That means the whole system is down. I told him I would ask for a different room. He said, "Oh well let me see if I can find a portable A/C unit." So he left and brought back a unit and hooked it up. Using duct tape he attached it to the window and the hose to the back of the unit. We left and went to the Calgary Stampede for the evening. When we returned 5 hours later, the tape had come loose and the hot air was blowing into the room instead of out the window. It's midnight, I fixed it myself by propping up the hose and we tried to sleep. We didn't sleep well and checked out first thing in the morning. They knew that room didn't have a/c and tried to pretend it did.
