Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The bush feeling.

Negative: The setting is beautiful and the concept has a lot of potential, but unfortunately our stay was seriously affected by the noise. Both nights we were there, there was extremely loud music and guests partying until the early hours of the morning. For somewhere marketed as a bush getaway, we expected a much more peaceful experience, especially at night. Management really needs to consider having and enforcing quiet hours so that guests who come to relax can actually get some rest. I must mention Wambui, who was very pleasant and did her best to assist. She was clearly under a lot of pressure dealing with the very noisy guests that weekend, and I appreciated her efforts. Another important point for anyone driving from Nairobi is the location. Although the property is listed as being in Kajiado, don’t assume this means a short drive from Nairobi. Plan for at least 5 hours on the road. You drive past Emali and continue towards the Loitoktok area, so it is considerably farther than the Kajiado description might lead you to expect. Beautiful surroundings, but the noise management really needs improvement. A bush escape should allow guests to enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings, not feel like they are sleeping next to a nightclub.
