The space
A unique private getaway awaits you on the Moon River. Located 10 minutes off Highway 400 and nestled off Ragged Rapids Road, this is a nature escape unlike any other in Muskoka. This all-in-one vacation home features four bedrooms (1 king + 3 queen beds), two bathrooms, an indoor sauna, games room with pool table and foosball table, outdoor screened in room with hot tub + BBQ, and a private beach and dock with kayak and canoe and views unlike any other.
It is situated on a private stretch of the Moon River below the Moon River dam with approx. 1 mile of river tucked between a waterfall and set of rapids making this a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the lakes. Enjoy a dip in the river from the beachfront, fish from the 20 ft. dock, or enjoy the complimentary kayaks or SUP Board to explore the scenery and catch a breathtaking sunrise or sunset over the horizon. With no neighbours in sight and the opposite side of the river undeveloped, you will feel truly immersed in the natural beauty of Muskoka and all it has to offer.
Motor boats are unable to access this part of the river, however for those who are interested, a public boat launch is located above the Moon River dam on Ragged Rapids Road where you can launch your boat and navigate to Bala with approx. 12 kilometers/8 miles of river to explore. If you prefer to drive, the quaint village of Bala is merely 12 minutes away with a selection of local shops and small businesses, restaurants and cafes, and the famous Kee to Bala concert and event hall.
Property features:
• 2 floor house (3600 sq. ft.) with 2 bedrooms (1 king + 1 queen) and full bath (4 pc with claw foot tub and walk in shower) upstairs, and 2 bedrooms (1 queen + 1 queen) and 3 pc bathroom with shower downstairs. All bedding and towels provided.
• Full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge, coffee maker gas stove and oven. All needed dishes, cutlery and glassware included so all you need to do is show up!
• Washer and dryer, and outdoor clothesline
• Outdoor screened-in room (approx. 900 sq. ft.) with patio furniture, lounge chairs, hot tub, and Weber BBQ (you will live out here with no mosquitos, an amazing view and sunset every night!!)
• Lower level walkout to dock and beach
• Lower level games room with pool table, foosball, TV, infrared sauna, bar & fridge with ice maker
Property is available June, July and August 2024 @ $7,000/week with a 7 night minimum.
