They have nice decks and also have nice views. **Shaw’s Hotel & Restaurant** Great grandfather Shaw opened the Inn in 1860, on the family’s pioneer farm originally settled in 1793. He wanted to provide a relaxing seaside lodging for visitors to our faire isle. And now, four generations later the Shaw family continues the tradition. Shaw’s Hotel is a country inn and our strength is; very clean, quiet and comfortable accommodations, rooms decorated in the traditional Prince Edward Island style, an excellent restaurant, good service and friendly hospitality. Shaw’s Hotel never strayed from its original promise; **“Refreshing rest where one can escape the rush and noise of every day life”** If you are motoring to Shaw’s Hotel you may come via Northumberland Ferries from Caribou, Nova Scotia to Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island. The trips last about one hour and no reservations are needed. When in Nova Scotia, we suggest you call and ask how long the wait will be for the ferry. If it is more than an hour, it would be better to go by the Confederation Bridge. If you are coming from New Brunswick take the stunning Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island. When you arrive on Prince Edward Island, follow the Trans Canada highway to Charlottetown. Follow the signs to the Charlottetown airport, and you will come to Route 15 traffic circle and then it is a 25 kilometre (15 miles) drive on Route 15 North to Brackley Beach and the door of Shaw’s Hotel. If you are arriving by air, we can meet you at the airport. Air Canada provides service from Newark, Boston, Toronto and Montreal and is associated with United Airlines. Westjet provides daily service from Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa and is associated with Delta Airlines.
