This is the second floor of a duplex. The house is 100 years old, so it has some imperfections, but it also has the beautiful charm of a century home.
- Master bedroom has a new king mattress, blackout curtains and new high-quality linens
- "Boys" room has two twin beds, blackout curtains and a desk
- "Girls" room has twin beds, blackout curtains, and floral decor
- Bathroom has a tub and shower. Decent shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and even baby shampoo provided.
- All high quality sheets and towels
- The hot tub is in the shared backyard, which is fenced on three sides for privacy. The hot tub is shared between the two units but it doesn't get much use, so most likely you'll have private use of the hot tub.
- The back yard also has a nice picnic table area, a fire pit, and a BBQ grill, so you can enjoy the outdoors
- The front porch is private for the second floor unit and provides a perfect space to enjoy morning coffee/tea (both provided, as well as creamer and sugar).
- The dining table seats six comfortably, but we also provide a childrens' table, making this a wonderful place for a long-term stay with kids.
- The unit has super fast wifi and the desk is portable, making it a great place for working trips. The desk easily moves to the front porch for days when the weather is nice, or can be put into another room if you have kids napping during the day.
This unit is the second floor of a duplex. Enter through the back stairway. Note that the stairway is "open" so not suitable for young children. There is also a stairway on the front of the house. If you stay with young kids, you can use the front stairs. We provide a gate at the top of the front stairs for safety.
The porch on the second floor is exclusive for this unit.
The backyard is shared, so the hot tub, picnic tables, and BBQ grill are available to both the first and second floor guests.
We live about ten minutes away. We're available if needed but usually busy with the kids around dinner/bedtime. Please call Kate or Jim if you have something that needs urgent attention.
This is a 100+ year old home. We love the charm of older houses, and we did our best to remodel it, but older houses can be quirky. If you'll be annoyed by squeaky floorboards this isn't the place for you.
Family house.
- No parties. No smoking. No drugs.
- No more than two dogs under 30 pounds allowed (no cats). Guest is responsible for cleaning up all dog droppings from yard. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. Dogs may not be left alone in unit unless in crate, and should not be left alone more than 2-3 hours.
- Quiet hours after 8 pm.
- Use of hot tub is 24x7 ONLY if quiet hours are respected.
- Guests are expected to be reasonably clean before entering hot tub.
- Guests may use basement laundry respectfully.
- No unregistered guests on premises or in hot tub.
- No fireworks of any kind permitted on property.
- $500 fine plus expenses incurred for violation of any of these rules.
- Damage to laundry, hot tub, or other appliances will be billed to guests.
- No firearms allowed on property. If a guest leaves a firearm on the property, local authorities will be called to retrieve it. Guest must contact authorities to get it back.
- Guests are expected to leave the house in reasonably clean condition and to clean all dishes used. Cleaners charge $25 per hour for washing dirty dishes left out or in cupboards.
Note: we only have room for one car per rental behind the house. Street parking is free but local police prefer not to see a car sitting in the same spot for many days.
