Dating from 1847 the castle is undergoing full restoration which you are invited to support by booking your stay here, in the heart of historic St Marychurch, down a private, tree lined drive with gated entry. Please note, we are RENOVATIO - in progress! The site remains tranquil but there may be contractors on site during the day.
St Marychurch enjoys the ecclesiastical spirit of two churches including St Mary's - the oldest place of worship in South Devon, dating from Saxon times. Castle Retreats supports the Yarn Fairies who weave their magic around St Marychurch with the community blessed by the efforts of the award winning Babbacombe Bay Bloomers and our wonderful, hard working traders within the precinct.
Our aim is to renovate the castle, support a thriving local community and to share the wonder of the local landscape and attractions with visitors. We aim to generate unique experiences by preserving the traditional heritage of St Marychurch.
