Old Town living at its best in the Historic Village of Pinehurst. Known for charming winding streets, graceful landscapes, mature plantings and charming cottages without equal. The Merrimac Cottage was built in 1919 as one of the early cottages of the original Pinehurst era. Taken down to the studs, lovingly restored and expanded in 2013, owners spared nothing in this total restoration and expansion. Each room is charming and well crafted as one would expect of this unique property. Wired for sound throughout, cozy wood burning fireplace, coffered ceilings and hardwood pine floors throughout.
Merrimac Cottage is located in the heart of Old Town Pinehurst. Everything is within walking distance including the Pinehurst Resort Club House which overlooks the famous Pinehurst #2 golf course. 1/10 mile to Pinecrest Inn, 1/4 mile to new Pinehurst Brewery, 4/10 mile to Village shops and town center, 6/10 mile to Carolina Hotel
The cottage has two bedrooms one queen and one king and two full bathrooms. The Cart and Pony shed is also equipped with a queen bed. The dining area can seat 6 comfortably. The family room has comfy seating and a 60" HDTV that provides all of your favorite cable channels. The cottage is also equipped with WFI and Sonos Soundsystem.
A laundry room is equipped with a washer, dryer and iron and iron board.
There is a screened porch that seats five, a brick patio for outdoor seating and additional porch in the front of the house that has a bistro table great for coffee in the morning or dinners.
