Welcome to Cairn House! The property is on 1.83 acres across from Elk Lake, part of the chain of lakes that include Torch and Bellaire. This well-appointed property appeals to everyone’s style and is the epitome of spaciousness and grandeur. No details were overlooked on this elegant 5-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom beauty.
The manor house boasts modern conveniences such as Energy Star appliances and low-e windows with gas fireplace, grand staircase, and dentil trim. Upon entering you’ll immediately feel luxury blended with ease and comfort. The grounds allow for ample space for a variety of outdoor events and activities.

The Space
**The House (maximum occupancy 11 guest)
** We pride ourselves on cleanliness of the home and grounds. Additional cleaning time is necessary for larger guest groups. An additional cleaning fee of $40/guest per stay will be calculated for reservations over 6 guests.
**Additional 4 guests available with Carriage House rental (see below for details)
**Should you choose not to reserve the Carriage House for additional guests this space may be rented and used for other guests during your stay. These guests do not have access to the outdoor amenities including hot tub, fire pit and grill and will have separate access codes to the Carriage House space.
First Floor
--Eat-in kitchen- stainless-steel appliances. Kitchen has everything you need (pots, pans, plates...) to make a large home-cooked meal and has some basic cooking staples (oil, salt and pepper, sugar, coffee, tea...) The kitchen dining table can seat 6 guests.

--Dining Room- the adjourning dining room with elegant dining table can seat an additional 6 guests.

--Living Room- smart TV, Cable, gas fireplace and amble comfortable seating.

--Four Seasons Room- Just off the kitchen guests will enjoy a beautiful four seasons room with surrounding windows, smart TV and comfortable lounge chairs perfect for reading, game nights and additional guest seating.

--First Floor Master- The first-floor master suite has a king bed and full ensuite bathroom with tub shower and hosts views of Elk Lake through the front windows.

Second Floor
--King Bedroom- ensuite full bathroom with shower (no bathtub).
--Queen Bedroom- ensuite full bathroom with shower (no bathtub).
--Queen Bedroom- private hall full bathroom with shower (no bathtub).

Basement
--Casual Family Room- large flat screen smart TV with leather recliner seating.

--Conference Area & Bar- conference table seats 16 and offers a wet bar with additional seating, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.

--Twin Bedroom

--Queen Bedroom- access to queen bedroom through twin bedroom

--Full Bathroom- this is the largest bathroom in the home with a large walk-in shower and jetted tub.

The Carriage House (Optional- max of 4 guests)
The detached carriage house offers additional living space, including a 2 queen suites, pull out sofa and full bath. Additionally a flatscreen TV, microwave, refrigerator, dinette, and private covered porch with swing are provided. The carriage house is located directly behind the main house with driveway just out front.
Main reservation does not include the Carriage House. Guests who wish to use the additional space provided by the Carriage House may request rental of this space after booking. The Carriage House is available for an additional $200 per night plus $100 cleaning fee.

Yard/Outdoor amenities
There is a private backyard with a lounge area and outdoor dining area including a grill and hot tub. The hot tub is open for use seasonally. Guests should review all hot tub rules and instructions listed in the home prior to use.

Surrounding Area
This location offers a convenient walk to Elk Lake public access beach and boat launch in Kewadin or a pleasant bike ride into Elk Rapids with its quaint downtown, marina, restaurants and shops. Scenic drives will take you to Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey and other northern Michigan towns. Experience the surrounding wine country, beaches, state land for hiking and hunting, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, ski resorts, snow mobile trails, world class fishing and recreational boating. Guests have access to the entire home and backyard.

Hours of Access:
Check-in is 4 p.m.
Check-out is 11:00 a.m.

Please include the appropriate number of guests when complete your reservation so that we may accurately prepare the home prior to arrival. All number of guests changes must be done before the start of the reservation. Please note there is exterior video surveillance- registered, paying overnight guests only.

NOTE: Early check-in and/or late check-out is a minimum of $35 and can go up based on time and group size. Must be approved by host *prior* to check-in.

Other things to note:
--Live video surveillance is used on this property.
--We provide an iron/iron board, plenty of towels, washcloths, a hair dryer, body soap, and shampoo/conditioner. Q-Tips too! Washer & dryer are located on the first floor.

--Cleanliness is very important to us! If there is a cleanliness issue, please let us know so we can rectify it!

-- Housekeeping service is per stay (cleaning fee is including in booking), not per night. Additional cleaning visits can be arranged for longer stays if needed. Visits must be paid in advance and are non-refundable if visits are cancelled. Please inquire when booking.

--Please be courteous to neighbors- Noise must be keep to a minimum after 10 p.m. especially if using the backyard space in the evening.

--There is no handicap access; there are steps to enter the front and back entrances.

--Guests with allergies and related medical issues and/or sensitivities- cleanliness is one of our top priorities, however we cannot 100% guarantee that the home is free of pet dander, cigarette smoke, air fresheners/cleaning product scents, or any other elements that may trigger a medical problem or sensitivity. Please note we cannot issue refunds due to these reasons.
