Positive: This hotel has a prime location, but unfortunately the condition of the property does not match its surroundings. The building is extremely old, and every corner of the room shows obvious signs that a full renovation is long overdue. The rooms are shabby, the furniture is worn, and even the windows are so dusty and dirty that you can hardly look outside. Overall, the place feels rundown and not well maintained. We had booked five rooms for the night 'a fairly large group' and were promised that one room would be available for a late check-out until 5 p.m. so we could store our luggage for the rest of the day. However, at the last minute, the front desk manager withdrew that promise and told us to leave all our luggage in the storage area. Only later did we discover that our belongings 'including computers and valuables' were left unattended in the lobby, without anyone watching over them. To make matters worse, no one helped us unload or load the luggage from the car. This lack of care and assistance was disappointing and far from what you would expect from a quality hotel. The staff experience overall was mixed. While most of the staff and a couple of managers were courteous, some of the staff members did not make us feel welcome or comfortable. The service lacked warmth, reinforcing the sense that the hotel has been neglected both physically and operationally. To be fair, the one highlight was the restaurant. We genuinely enjoyed the morning breakfast, and the dining staff handled everything well. But beyond that, there was little that truly stood out. Considering the price point, especially compared to neighboring hotels like the Waldorf Astoria, this hotel may seem more affordable, but there are definitely better options in Jerusalem that offer far more comfort, care, and value. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 5 out of 10.
