Located between Highlands, NC and Clayton, GA, you get the best of all! We are located right above Sky Valley, GA and a short 15-20 min scenic drive to Main Street, Highlands, NC.
Our home offers four ensuite bedrooms, three of which have king-sized beds, a well-appointed, gourmet kitchen with breakfast bar leading to a dining room with seating for ten+. The great room has a floor to ceiling stone, wood-burning fireplace, game table and wet bar for enjoying good times together. Main floor also includes an office/study with desk and daybed with trundle, reading books; a half bath. Our primary suite includes a king bed, bathroom with over-sized, jetted tub, shower for two with steam. We offer two laundry rooms, one on main level and one on lower level.
The main level and lower decks span the entire home with access from all rooms with panoramic views, outdoor seating, heat lamps, gas grill and Big Green Egg, with access between decks and to ground level. The lower level includes three guest ensuites, one with a fireplace and king size bed, another with king size bed which is our largest suite, and the last with two twin beds. On the lower level, there is a recreation room with regulation size ping pong table, live edge bar, beverage cooler and TV for tons of family fun. All ensuites HAVE views and deck access! The decks lead to the ground level of the home for exploring the three-acre property. Several TVs, Wi-Fi/internet access, movies, games, and books for enjoying those lazy and relaxing nights. At ground level, you have access to the fire pit to roast marshmallows, make s'mores and tell stories into the night AND a full-sized twin daybed swing set above the firepit to enjoy those good times.
Ideal for family getaways, ladies’ retreats, etc. this home will not disappoint, and NO four-wheel drive required to get to this 3,800-foot elevation home with well-marked, paved roads leading in and out of the neighborhood. No white knuckle here, well unless it snows, you may want to stay in or have that all wheel drive vehicle, but the roads are treated and cleared when needed! We stay open for winter gatherings and escapes.
LOCATION: A quick trek to Main Street Highlands, NC, with renowned restaurants and shopping, or a quick trip to Clayton, GA, the farm to table capitol of Georgia. There are many choices for dining and shopping with close by towns. We are located a quick 5 minutes from Sky Valley, with the renowned Sky Valley Golf Course (public). So many outdoor activities to enjoy including Highlands Aerial Park (zip-line) just a few minutes down the road, hiking, snow tubing/ice skating in winter and the new Scaly Screamer at Highlands Outpost/Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center, and much more. Many area waterfalls and hiking trails to explore nearby, world renowned rafting/tubing on the famous Chattooga, fishing lakes, river and streams; or, you can also just walk around our gated neighborhood and property. With Beegum Trailhead for Rabun Bald Mountain just steps from our neighborhood, it's the second highest peak in Georgia, a great hiking adventure for a moderate level trail. The view at peak is amazing and should not be missed!
NOTE THE RULES: This home is pet friendly, with two, pre-approved dogs. We require a cleaning fee, damage insurance/deposits, the pet fee, along with applicable taxes which are charged by VRBO. All fees will be applied when booking so make sure you view or request a quote if you are unsure. VRBO is required to collect all taxes for state and county. Additionally, we allow a maximum of three (3) autos to the property. No parties or events allowed and you must be 25 years or older to rent. Room for 10 adults and 2 children, under 2 years of age which will not be included in total. With easy access to Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee major airports at approximate drive 2 hours to our home; Asheville is an hour and a half drive.
