The apartment is located in Bairro Alto, right in the city historical center, beautiful and full of character, 5 minute walk to Chiado square and metro station.
It is fairly peaceful during the day, but at night it’s the place to go for a drink and dine out. The apartment suits people wanting to enjoy themselves, being close to most attractions and venues. A great selection of bars and restaurants and the general buzz of the Bairro Alto nightlife is just around the corner.
There’s potential for noise coming from the people having fun on the streets, as it’s a street with lots of bars, but the double glazed window in the living room conceals most it.
It’s my home in Lisbon but I rent it to guests when I am away in London for work. it’s not luxurious but it has nice features and a quirky and stylish décor.
Bairro Alto is a XVII century neighborhood, picturesque and full of character, and the electrical network is old too. Today’s appliances require a lot more power supply than in the old days when electricity was first installed.
Please turn off the water boiler when you don’t need it - it’s a reservoir with enough hot water for 2 showers that doesn’t need to be constantly heating up. I had guests reporting the power shuts down but if you turn off the boiler, it should be fine! :-)
