Anchors Away is a waterfront home that features magnificent sunset views daily! This well kept dog friendly home located is located on Kitty Hawk Bay (aka the Sound) in Kill Devil Hills. Centrally located to all things fun on the Outer Banks. Walk or bike to the Wright Brothers Monument, miniature golf, restaurants, the beach, etc. Fish, crab, launch a kayak or watch the sunset from the dock in the backyard. The screened in multi level back deck is the perfect spot to enjoy summer evenings.
The space
Anchors Away is 1 side of a 2 unit duplex/townhouse. The 2 units mirror each other but are completely separate, including your own front porch & multi level back decks that overlook the water. The sunsets on the sound are absolutely magnificent and can be viewed from most rooms. There is 1 dock that is shared, where you can fish, crab, launch kayaks, or just soak in the amazing scenery.
The 3 bedrooms include 1 room with a king bed, 1 room with a queen, and 1 room with 2 twins. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need including cutting board, utensils, pots, glasses, dishes,, mugs, etc. All bedding and towels are provided. The king & queen bedrooms have flatscreen roku tv's with streaming available. The living room has a flatscreen tv with cable. Mesh WI-FI is set up for strong internet connection.
Washer and dryer, flat screen tv, dishwasher, regular coffee maker, keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, blender, and outdoor grill.
All linens (including bedspreads) are washed and sanitized between guests.
The fireplace is currently not active and not available to use.
Checkin time is at 4pm. Checkout is at 10am. Please respect this time so our cleaners have time to clean.
Kayaks! Each side includes the use of 2 single kayaks and 1 tandem kayak during the summer months. Due to wind & weather conditions kayaks are available for use during summer months only, and will not be available if there is a risk of tropical storms or hurricanes. The kayaks are to be used and launched only from the house and are NOT to be transported offsite to launch anywhere else. Use kayaks at your own risk.
The propane grill and kayaks are extras that we provide, but you should be prepared to clean them before and after use.
We'll send you keypad info to unlock the front door before your arrival.
Other things to note:
Our home is suitable for families/vacationers. No college groups, workmen, or partiers will be accepted. Any other groups, please contact before making a reservation. Check in & check out is usually on Saturdays's during peak season which is mid May - August. Please inquire about shorter stays as we do have some dates open.Off season we typically have a minimum of 3 nights stay.
Minimum age requirement is 25 years of age to make a reservation. This is not a party house.
Anchors Away is the south side of a 2 unit townhouse/duplex. Please be sure to park on the left-hand side of the driveway throughout your stay and be aware that other guests may be staying on the other side and keep noise to a minimum at night. You'll have complete privacy as the entire house is separate include the rear decks, but the back yard and dock is shared.
***Pet policy: Well behaved house broken non-aggressive dogs only; maximum of 2 dogs. No other pets permitted. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times when outdoors. Dogs must be on flea prevention and up to date on vaccinations. You must notify us in advance if you are bringing a dog, along with the breed. Please do not bring your dog if they are excessive barkers. You must clean up after your pet. This includes dog hair inside the house as well as doggie doo outside the house. Due to insurance limitations, the following breeds are not permitted, including breeds mixed with the following : No Pit Bull, Cane Corso, Rottweiler, Chow Chow, Presa Canario, Akita, Mastiff, Malamute.
