The Salty Goat is located on Goat Island along the Intracoastal waterway. Situated across form the Isle of Palms in a no wake zone, this family friendly island offers amazing views and endless relaxation. Being only accessible by boat, this property provides plenty of privacy while being minutes from anything you may need. The cottage offers 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with a full kitchen stocked with all the necessities for preparing your meals. There is a grill on the large upper deck and a large bar/entertainment area downstairs. This property is limited to 6 guests unless approved by the owner.
The area offers endless activities from visiting historic sites to world class fishing, or just people watching on the dock. The marina is located a 1/4 mile from the cottage. There you will find a ship store, fuel dock, a Cafe and a restaurant(Islander 71) as well as kayaking excursions and fishing charters. Boat rentals are also available if you don't have your own. Also, kayaks are always a fun mode of transportation. We have two.
We DO provide pots and pans, kitchen utensils, dish soap, hand soap, bath soap, toilet paper, paper towels, bath towels and a (1) hairdryer, a gas grill with gas. Also see the listed amenities.
We DO NOT have a dishwasher, shampoo or conditioner, a washer / dryer or WiFi.
The water is well water filtered by reverse osmosis. We have the system checked annually and it is one of the best. There is a special tap from the sink that provides an additional filter for drinking water. Not necessary but nice to have. The water is very clean.
Goat Island is located between Mt. Pleasant and Isle of Palms, South Carolina, United States, on the Intracoastal Waterway. It is one of the smallest inhabited islands of the region, being only as large as a neighborhood street. No street lamps, paved streets and only accessible by boat. Explore the two and a half mile dirt road that will take you from one end of the island to the other end. Along the way you will see paths drifting off the roads that will take you to some awesome spots to see. Take the time to detour off the road. One particular spot is called the " Spoils". It's a two mile path that will take you around beautiful marsh and waterfront areas of the island that can only be seen by foot. Enjoy Grey Bay right in your back yard! It seems to go on forever. The bay is only calf deep at high tide. Enjoy kayaking and walks along the dirt road. Always a great view around the corner. Enjoy Adirondacks on the deck below the house or out on the dock. The views are beautiful. Great for fishing and viewing wildlife! Heaven!
