The VIEW!
You’ll love the amazing view from the third story ocean front balcony overlooking both the beach and the ocean. The comfy deck chairs sit up high, commanding an unobstructed view of the ocean over the deck rails. It’s the perfect place to sip your early morning coffee while enjoying the spectacular sunrise or wind down in the evening with a glass of wine after a perfect day on the beach.
Beach Time
A short walk down the three flights of stairs and around the corner will take you to one of two private boardwalks leading over the dune and onto the beach. Enjoy building sand castles, digging for mole crabs or collecting shells with an assortment of beach toys in our storage closet. A mesh carrying bag makes carrying and cleaning the toys a breeze. Relax and enjoy the surf in one of our beach chairs also provided for your enjoyment. Or enjoy a leisurely walk down to the iconic Surf City Pier and count sea turtle nests along the way.
Pool
When you’ve had enough of the sand, shower off in one of two outdoor showers and head over to the zero- entry pool (no steps, very gradual decline). Many lounge and beach chairs plus four cabanas offer ample seating as well as shade opportunities for your comfort. The pool is open to guests from April 1 (or whenever it passes inspection) through October 31.
Family Time
We’ve designed the Seahorse with family time in mind. When not relishing the amazing view from the deck, gather the family around the picnic-styled kitchen table for family game time and enjoy a variety of games for all ages. Bench seating accompanies four chairs so all can eat and play together. Set up a puzzle on the coffee table for everyone’s amusement throughout your relaxing stay. And snuggle up at night on the comfy leather couches while enjoying a favorite movie from your personal accounts on the 55 inch ROKU TV.
Kitchen
The recently renovated kitchen has been completely made over with new cabinets, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy home cooked meals together, from an electric griddle for pancakes and bacon in the morning to ceramic cookware in every size for any dinner plans desired. Three bar stools at the counter allow for conversation and companionship while in the kitchen. And the clear view of the ocean and beach are a delight to the eyes with every look out the sliding glass door. Upgraded LVP flooring is throughout all 1,000 feet of the condo.
2 Full Baths
When it’s time to clean up after a day of fun in the sun the Seahorse offers two fully renovated bathrooms to shower and bathe. The master bathroom has its own shower, vanity and toilet, while the hallway bathroom has a tub/shower, vanity and toilet. Hooks offer a convenient place to hang your swim suits. Beach towels can hang from either the hooks in the shower or from the clothes lines on the deck. Several towel racks offer a spot for everyone’s bath towel.
Please note that towels are not provided as part of the rental. Local linen services offer rental packages, or you may bring your own. A few local linen companies are: Sweet Dreams Linens, Seaside Linen, and Me and Mom Rentals.
Beds
When it’s finally time to say good night everyone will enjoy sweet dreams on comfy memory foam mattresses and luxury hotel pillows. The master bedroom, with its king sized bed and comforter plus 43 inch ROKU TV, is the perfect little romantic retreat each night for mom and dad.
The loft offers a choice of a queen bed and bunk beds, all of which have luxury hotel pillows, comforters and memory foam mattresses. The loft can be closed off with sliding curtains to create a private room. An additional curtain separates the bunk bed from the queen bed, offering additional privacy.
Have a family member who prefers their own private space? The bed under the stairs is the perfect sleeping spot for them! Whether pretending to be Harry Potter or snuggling in to read a good book, this comfy nook has both a light and a curtain for creating a secluded spot.
If an additional sleeping spot is needed, please ask about arrangements to convert a fold out chair into a twin xl.
All beds have an accessible shelf, light and outlet for your added convenience. Beds are furnished with comforters and pillows. You may bring your own sheets or linens are available for rent from local linen services. A few local linen companies are: Sweet Dreams Linens, Seaside Linen, and Me and Mom Rentals.
Onsite Amenities:

- Community grilling area with picnic tables (located next to laundry building. Note that you will need to provide your own grilling utensils.)
Additional Information
Reservations for the regular season (May – September) are weekly Saturday – Saturday. Off season (October – April) has a three night minimum stay. The Seahorse may also be available for monthly rentals between October - April. Inquire for details.
The Seahorse is family friendly but not "baby proofed".
This is a third floor unit. There are 42 steps to get from the ground floor into the front door; one flight of 14 steps and then 4 flights of 7 steps each.
The Seahorse offers Keyless Pin Pad Entry. Access Codes will be sent to you via text shortly before check in.
Don’t forget your linens! Sheets and towels are not provided but you may bring your own or linens can be rented. A few local linen companies are: Sweet Dreams Linens, Seaside Linen, and Me and Mom Rentals. Pillows, comforters and blankets are provided for all advertised sleeping arrangements.
Consumable items are not provided. We recommend you bring the following items: toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, plastic utensils, dish soap, dishwasher soap, body soap, shampoo, lotion, beach towels, large kitchen trash bags, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, plastic storage bags, spices, coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, etc. Additionally, we recommend either renting or bringing: kitchen dish cloths, kitchen hand towels, kitchen dish towels, wash cloths, bath towels, bath hand towels, bath mats, and sheets.
This is a smoke-free, pet-free home.
You are free to sign in to your own streaming accounts on either Roku TV, just please be sure to sign out before you leave!
This property is located in the gated Surf Condos complex at 918 N New River Drive in Surf City. The Surf Condo Complex offers Cable and community Wifi service to all units. Log in information will be provided at check in. The complex pool is open for guest use from April 1 (or whenever the pool passes inspection) through October 31. Newly renovated on site laundry facility with coin and/or app operated machines are available. Community grilling area with picnic tables are also available for guest use (note that you will need to provide your own grilling utensils). This property does not have a phone. Please note that Surf Condo rentals provide parking for two cars in its gated parking lot and towing is enforced. Boats, trailers, jet skis, etc. are not allowed on the condo premises and bikes are not allowed to be locked outside.
We strongly recommend you purchase TRAVEL INSURANCE that covers "trip interruption." Hurricane Season in NC runs June 1-November 30, with the most activity in September and October. Trip Interruption insurance covers Hurricane Evacuations. NC Vacation Rental Act states refunds are not due to renters for interrupted stays due natural disasters if guests opted out of travel insurance.
Rates are based on the following four "seasons". Please see calendar for current rates for your specific dates.
Prime Time = Week before Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend, 7 night minimum stay
Leisure Time = First week of September through mid-October, 3 night minimum stay
Off-Season = End of October through last full week of March, 3 night minimum stay
Pre-Season = End of March through week before Memorial Day, 3 night minimum stay
All rates are subject to a 12.75% tax (6.75% NC state tax and 6% local accommodations tax for Surf City).
